|  | NIE SMART programme funding will be used to support, through a grant, the installation of biomass heating systems including wood pellet and wood chip. The following grants are available: Boilers up to and including 150kW will be eligible for 15% of installed cost up to a maximum of £10,000. Boilers over 150kW up to 320kW will be eligible for 10% of installed cost up to a maximum of £12,000. Stoves will be eligible for £850 regardless of the size of the installation.
Funding support can be claimed for the cost of the boiler, the installation of the boiler and the fuel store but not for radiators or thermal stores. |  | The Renewable Heat Incentive (Details still to be agreed for Northern Ireland) is a payment for generating heat from renewable sources. Like the Feed-In Tariffs, it is set by Government. It is administered by the official regulator Ofgem on sales of fossil heating fuels and is collected by the suppliers of these fuels. You will be paid up to 9p/kWhr for the hot water and heat you generate and use yourself. It depends on exactly what systems you use and how large they are as to what the exact tariff level is. | The InvestNI SME Energy Grant Scheme provides financial aid to businesses that wish to adopt energy efficient practices, install energy efficient technologies or implement energy efficient projects. Grants are available for up to 25 per cent of the total project cost with a minimum grant of £1,000 up to a maximum grant of £5,000. This means for project to qualify, its minimum cost would have to be £4,000. |
